Continuing North along the next 28km's of Captain
Cook Highway is one of Australia's most scenic coastal
routes.
But drive carefully, when it rains, the narrow twisting road
can become slippery and treacherous.
Stop at Hartley's Crocodile Farm to watch
the Croc's feed, then take your time at Rex Lookout for a
great photo location and to see the hand - gliders in action
over head.
Arriving in the small seaside resort village of Port
Douglas you will find picturesque Four Mile
Beach and the magnificent Sheraton Mirage
Golf Course. "Port" as it is known to the
locals - boasts everything from village simplicity to upmarket
luxurious resorts.
A highlight is Breakfast with the Birds at The Rainforest
habitat - and the champagne for breakfast is fairly
decadent!
Most Reef Cruises depart from Marina
Mirage, where if you visit on Sunday Morning you
can have breakfast on the deck before strolling through Ports'
famous Sunday Morning Markets.
